Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Ready for RTO?

Get ready. The Silent Generation and Boomer executives are ready to start herding associates back to mandatory days in the office, because that's the only way they know how to manage and enforce their command and control. A$$hats. All of them.

Imagine half of the people who work for an investment firm don't understand how global economics works and are still unclear about effects of pandemic and a war facilitated by the orange orangutan. 'Perfect phone call', indeed. Maybe look up and see how the rest of the world is doing and you'd realize things are comparatively much better here.

I imagine half your work force voted for the person responsible for the inflation and gas price increases. They deserve to go back.

We have all been working from home for the last two years just fine, at least in the technology area. It is hard to imagine that Fido would force people back into the office for even 3 days a week given current inflation and gas prices.

People’s attitudes about it are nasty - the simping suck-ups and the managers who claim it’s not required yet but then constantly try to drill it into us. Makes me want to make a big change so I don’t have to deal with giddy pro-office people being smug upon return.
