Thread regarding Pearson PLC layoffs

It's amazing reading these comments on how executives show no care with continued layoffs in POLS. However, lets look at the background of the leader, KB, to have a better understanding. KB's educational background allowed him to become a chemist. Impressive but one wouldn't think a chemist is a people person or is built to lead an organization. His zoom camera appearances have confirmed the lack of interpersonal skills and the tanking of POLS and the morale is under his leadership. He had one director role at a nothing profit school and only an employee of POLS for a few years.SDB and KW,who also tanked this place, only had a 2 year run. And there are many upper managers in POLS that had no management experience prior to their role. Some were an admin. Assistant or EA before they moved up. Pearson decided to invest in these individuals and has it turned out well.🤡

Giving people an honest assessment of the business and their future employment seems much more decent to me than the alternative of stringing people along.

How long do you think CC is going to stick around in the muck and mire? These cats are looking for the paycheck and a quick equity stake gain coupled with the parachute. Pearson is no longer a destination. It's a stepping stone. A stopover. Means to an end. A conduit for high level execs to line their pockets, create and affect no positive or negative change and use the workforce for their own gain. This is the corporate world we live in. Do the line managers care about their charges? I'd venture a guess and say yes. But the c-level old boys club? No way.

I am buying my time, but I see the future and it is not bright. They are automating information for students. Partners are not happy with constant change and our leaders keep telling us change is inevitable. Yes, it is. However, this is way too many changes and a whole new ELT does not inspire confidence. Personally I think they are looking for a buyer who will give the C Suite members better severance packages.

SMH, I remember a major priority in spring 2018 was to put as much information in SF about one’s accounts as possible. “Clean everything up, it will only benefit the rep down the line”. Then bam! hundreds “displaced” - Pearson, have them do the work first and then displace them, duh! Seems you have taken a step backwards in your deceitful practices. Glad to hear some of the people I actually respect have had enough and left. Too many “Yes” men searching for a title at a worthless place… makes me chuckle.. and makes me think they need some counseling..
