Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Getting opportunities internally

I didn't have any luck getting an internal position. Is it just me or does Intel no longer prefer to hire internally?

My managers block all my opportunities behind my back and remove me from any internal opportunities.

Qualified candidates know better than to work for Intel.

The only position where Intel pays better than top-tier tech companies is CEO. Think about that.

We can't find a qualified candidate, inside or outside. Just a couple of issues we have run into:

  • Folks don't know basic electronics , analog and digital. This, for a gig, that is very HW centric.
  • Won't even attempt to answer a question even after being prodded in the right direction. They just say "I don't' know" and leave it at that, won't even try.
  • Googling the answer during a virtual interview (Yes, this actually happened)

Depends on your manager. If the manager is a good person, then they will sell you up. Otherwise, you have an uphill battle.

To get an idea of your competition for the job you should lookup the Workday raw data. The raw data gives additional insight that let's you know how many people applied, how many were interviewed and at what stage of the hiring process the job opening is at.

Depends on who is the better @ss kisser

You probably have zero skills in brown nosing, that's why you are not getting the internal offers

Depends on candidate and skills, and how well things match up. I haven’t seen a bias either way.
