3rd shift or overnight shift resurrection

Upgrades to the robotic scrubber/inventory scanner/associate monitor/member survey bot (rsisammsb) will receive fork extensions. With the latest upgrade and more to follow for rsisammsb will allow rsisammsb to stock by placing full pallets in where partials are now located.

Human interaction will be limited to making sure rsisammsb is always fully charged and topping off the new pallets. Some floor jack work may be required by associates but only in extreme conditions.

rsisammsb peak functioning hours will be 11pm to 7:30am. Current shifts of 4am to 12:30pm and the 3pm to 11:30pm will stay in place as support.

Would be nice to have a 4 day work week. Work 4 ten hour shifts. That way there wouldn’t be a gap in the middle to fill and morning and evening shift could communicate better.

Getting rid of Overnights was one of the silliest things they ever did. There was so much more we could get done at night as far as stocking, setting displays etc. Especially resets. My suggestion is move 2nd shift Merch to 1230 to 9, have 3rd shift work from 830 to 5 and have 1st shift come in at 430 to 1. That way there is always some overlap so that the various teams have some kind of in person communication.

Now will this increase payroll? Yes it will. However, I think that the member experience will be a lot better this way.

Haven’t had fork Extensions at my club for 2 years. When the large stuff comes in stacked on other stuff I just drag it of till the pallet breaks and hits the floor. No way I can down stack a gazebo wile it’s stacked on another pallet.
