Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Years of mismanagement

I'm sad to see what Allstate has become. I gave notice, but it used to be nice to work here and I would love to hear one day that Allstate is back on track. But the question is whether even some new leadership, with different approach, would be able to correct the years of mismanagement?

In my time @ AS, we kept being told to work on our “personal brand”. When my brand is transparency, open discussions of issues, treating people like they deserve to be treated, and I am unable to pursue those things due to the work environment, I realized it wasn’t a place for me.

I agree with the comment about the ECs. All they do is look at injury evaluations and come up with BS excuses to reduce them. That’s one group I wouldn’t mind being reduced!

when you're beholden to the stockholders rather than the customers, the right path looks very different.

Currently things are going great for the stockholders do they won't be making any significant changes.

I gave notice as well after 16 years. I had hoped to work there longer and maybe for my career but it just became too toxic and dysfunctional. Tons of processes getting in the way and contradicting other processes. No ability to advance in your career. Leadership who smiled and listened but truly didn’t care. They’re only letting you guys work from home to save money, not as a perk or wellness deal. Meetings upon meetings where they were training leaders as if they were toddlers. That education team is something. A lot of wasteful positions as well starting with the EC group. It’s very sad to see but hey, we told em. And we moved on to better opportunities and careers.
