What do you know or expect?

With Dell’s heavily weighted revenue on PCs and those sells falling off cliff I expect you see large layoffs this summer.

Layoffs started a few months ago. Most of the us people who knew stuff (at least more that who are left,) in consulting for a large customer were let go. Now project is going nowhere even with all the hours we put in.

To reply on previous posting.
There is no traditional time or month for WFR at Dell.
It is done whenever they determine that the spreadsheet numbers need to be adjusted, easiest way is reduction in headcount determined by Division Senior VP.Have witnessed WFR in the past years in January, March , May months. there may have been others but this is what I have experienced in the divisions I work in.
Management is usually held to NDA with information that will not be told to workforce. Very unfortunate but this is Dell and every decision to the most inane is based on cost, if it can be reduced it will be.

A senior guy (a VP in HR who quit recently) told me there would be WFR in May. I asked my manager to do us both a favor and put me on the list. He said he was not aware of any WFR, and with the risk of losing development centers in Russia he didn't believe any WFR was in the cards. He also added that traditionally WFRs are done in September.

So, conflicting information. If any of you guys find something more substantial let us know.

Layoffs smiles at us all; all we can do is smile back. So man up and be ready. It could be a blessing in disguise.

Well with all this talk about a global recession coming, the ukraine/russia conflict, continuing chip supply issues thanks to the china virus, and the bumbling drooling fool in the white house that continues to make things worse daily.....to me i cant see how Dell WOULDNT be affected in some way. Hopefully nothing to the extent of layoffs but i wouldnt be shocked at all.

talk is cheap...we hear that here all the time. Means nothing. If a recession does hit, I would imagine things would happen then.
