Union contracts are expiring; salaried folks don't turn in your skills matrix

As you may have heard, the IAM contract expiration and vote is May 1. If you are salaried, you may have been recently approached by management to complete or update a shop skills matrix to determine if you are eligible to be assigned to a production or repair line in the event the new contract is declined and the union decides to strike.

You may find it easier to ignore such a request for information now instead of having to potentially make a tougher, later decision to not cross the picket line.

Even if you're not into sharing solidarity with the union, it might help to remember that we're not John Deere - our product quality has potential life safety consequences. Potentially replacing striking line workers with current office workers given an 8 hour refresher course, however temporary in nature, would inherently degrade product safety - and we've already issued a fair amount of SDOs throughout the pandemic.

Same fear mongering every time. Salary can do the work.

You really think the salaried have a choice whether to cross the line or not?
