Town halls

Tawn halls are becoming more and more meaningless. Constantly the same empty phrases. the same empty promises. And what I’ve noticed is that everyone is reluctant to ask the right questions, the ones that might put them in an uncomfortable position. Perhaps it's time to start asking questions like that though?

We are bringing in some of our customers, who have been thrilled by our innovative solutions and delivery excellence to talk in these town halls. This is really ground breaking.

getting honest information would mean that the management knows about the problems. but they only look at some figures regarding income and expenses and then deduce problems from them.

i would even go so far as to say that not even the managers of a small region are informed about the existing problems in delivery, and therefore have no idea where the pinch is.

and if you have absolutely no idea where the problems lie, then you just hide behind meaningless phrases like "more spaghetti instead of lasagne", where no one dares to ask "and what does that mean exactly?" in order not to look like a fool. but if you ask around, none of your colleagues knows how to explain what "more spaghetti and less lasagne" means.

Love how you can up-vote people's questions... and then they rise to the top.. and are just ignored.

Town halls are total waste of time. Jist calculate the number of wasted hours by all the people watching all that drivel for an hour. Plus the time wasted setting up the meeting/material etc

Then we have region town halls.. etc. I think I go on about 4 each quarter!

And none of them tell us anything we want to hear. ... no point in asking questions relating to pay.. as we just get told generic sh---y answers.

Don't ask Mikey a difficult question - he won't like it. And then he'll know your name, which means that when the axe next falls, it will fall on you...

Don't expect anything from a town hall - just broken promises and lies down the river

What do you expect? The truth? Actual answers to problems?

Never seen one anywhere that does that, DXC is no exception.

Just a load of claptrap. It's all about using the same words they do to Wall Street.

The town halls have always been a mumble jumble of hollow corporate speak.
