Of course I am not and cannot be satisfied here. Everyone keeps repeating that we should get out of here. OK, we need to leave and go somewhere else, but where? Where are those jobs where everything is much better than here? It's not so easy to find a better option. I got two offers which are not at all better than this one here.

AS An employee here in my dept the ppl who get the raises and promotions are the ones who talk the most and work the least. Collaboration? Please it means if you are a smoker, drinker or midnight toker you are on the ball. TT million dollar raise after bankruptcy....? Post about uneducated managers and some workers is so very true. Every telecom company has this problem. We are hiring so layoffs is just a rumor mill unless you are a field tech. They lay them off alot because they are UNION. Results in us not making sla so customers are unhappy. SO have some pride in what you do and not what you are paid. Makes us better.
Just look at the bigger Contractors. I’ve been gone almost 3yrs now. Same area, less stress, a lot better pay and benefits. No more 70 to 80 hours a week every week.
I am a senior citizen just found out that a family member of mine just got laid off from Windstream. I’m very upset that person has worked almost 9 years there. WHy?. I understand there was no reason. This is sad he has a family he has bills. I understand no severance sad sad sad
What are your skills? All those jobs are in specific areas.
lots of techs that have been cornered in their jobs. It’s hard to develop fresh skills/knowledge of you are stuck working on old cr---y windstream Frankenstein equipment / systems. Like try to take those pri/pbx skills somewhere that’s hiring…. Nope. And if so - it’s flat tire. Telecom is a low margin business. Look for businesses that don’t scrape the bottom barrel.
You might have to suck it up and hit night school. Just drop your effort level at work to near zero. You’ll either get free time at the job or laid off. Speaking of layoffs - I heard another round is coming this next pay period or the one after. They are looking at yearly reviews / salaries for heads to roll.
If you have a busy life - it’s hard to cut time away from your kids to attend night school for fresh training.
If you are in sales - good luck selling cr-p right now. With the looming interest rate hike and uncertain market - this will a slow growth area. The markets have been terrible for a while. That’s not good news.
in today's times where everyone is hiring, because no one wants to work, if you can't find a better place to work, than you just are not looking.
Where?
Lot's of remote opportunities
Do you have technical skills that can be applied else where or are you in a dead end job?
Do you have access to the internet?
Are you on linkedin?
I get unsolicited e-mails all of the time.
