STSS

What is the point of the STSS now if they have no access to log into anything unless they are on a VTeam? Just give the SSS the ticket and have then touch things.. Heard thats coming back anyways.

They won't even need to lay anyone off; they can achieve their goals through attrition. The way they're handling the current "reimagining," they'll have chased away all but the most spineless eager beavers by the end of the year. I've never heard so many veiled threats and mealy mouthed lies coming from IT Leadership.

I would wager, by early next year they purge at least 50% of the remaining STSS while making the vTeam a full time slightly better paid role. Once they cement in the vTeams and better define their new roles, they will assess the number of STSS remaining that seems relevant, I could see it be 50% of existing non vteam stss, up to 100% and pushing for contractors for the required on site visits like they are doing with UPS installs and the like. And I would expect on call to be dead by the end of summer.

VTeams are basically STSS specialists who volunteer to take on extra work, extra on call monitoring of specific types of tickets. Nice idea in theory, but it can probably be done better. And yes, sort of like SME groups, except now they actually can do things for all stores. They do not get extra pay for this work. The regular STSSs miss being able to actually fix things. STSSs are having a rough time with the recent changes of leadership, and the new standards, and continued access loss to systems they used to be able to fix quickly.

I'm out of the loop. I work in a store now. What even is a Vteam? Is it anything like the failed SME groups?
