Micromanaging

Meeting expectations is not enough. My boss seems to go out of their way to find ways to criticize my work, added with passive/aggressive language. And I feel like I’m the only target. I wish I could know if my coworkers are going through the same.

From other threads I’ve seen, seems like this is a common occurrence in this company.

It is micromanaging at it’s best. I can almost promise you are not the only one. After 20+ years you see it over and over. They start nick picking your efficiency - how long you chat, did you use the internet, how long was your computer idle/ locked etc etc. Unfortunately once you get in the crosshairs it’s best to document ALOT and start trying to get out from that position because the next step is a CAP then your stuck and your only option is to resign.

I've stopped making any suggestions on solutions or process improvements! You want to give me some manual document work... okay, whatever! I'm just sitting here watching you shrivel up like a raisin! The bigger boss hired his star and it's not you... hahaha. Now she is making you look like the id--t that you are... LMFAO! Just a matter of time! Karma

Managers that micromanage are insecure & in order to feel in control they micromanage. Print out emails & document, document, documet while you look for another job. Your manager will never change.

Could be that you're the one standout (for all the wrong reasons) on an otherwise high-performing team. Some managers have a hard time dealing with that, and hope that a little poking and prodding might help motivate you. What you're perceiving as micromanagement is their misguided attempt to get you to perform or 'care' at the same level as the others. But I've learned, after trying this with someone else once... for a couple years, that it just doesn't work with your personality type... where it would work with high performers. (You just rarely ever have to take this approach with them, since they drive themselves to keep up.)
Bottom line is that you are never going to change, and neither is your manager, unfortunately. You're just incompatible with each other in this regard.

Micromanaging is actually a requirement to be a manager at UHG. If you're a target, congratulations! You are a threat to the boss because they know you're better then they are and can easily take their job!!! Document, document, print out ALL emails. File a complaint with HR that your boss is hostile!! So when they let you go you file a complaint with DOL and unemployment and WIN!! Toxic Sh!t Show!!
