Recently left the Backroom and moved to Produce, lost $2.50 an hour going from level 7 to 2.
Backroom associate quits and they put me back there.
Is there a Policy against this? Or are my hands tied?

Seriously, get your old job back.
Been doing back room since night shift ended. Never got a raise. Supposed to be merchandiser.
Work slowly
Don't quite remember. But I think as long as you are in your coded job 50 percent of the time they can put you wherever they want. I used to have to fill in for receivers when they were on vacation and I was in a lower level. I didn't mind too much. It broke the monotony. But I understand your situation too. You wanted out and stay out. They will abuse that though. Make sure you take note of dates and times you were back there so WHEN you get chewed out for produce looking bad you don't get coached or blamed for everything. Now they will hire someone to do that job and either you will have to train them, help them get caught up or you will be called upon constantly to fix mistakes. If you want to be out completely, turn in your forklift license. Then again, it will slow you down in produce.
The company will save money by any means possible. Your choices are to keep on doing what they tell you, no matter how repugnant, or tell them to shove their job up their a$$. In my view, with the abundance of employers out there begging for good workers, you would be far better off in the long run to choose the second option.
