Thread regarding Ford layoffs

So is that the consensus, August for next round of separations? Similar number of cuts as last time, in April?

I would say if you are working from home, look out. Too many plant positions being filled by agency people. Too many launches at the pilot plant where DNR engineers can’t seem to pull themselves away from home to review their issues.

Practically three types of jobs are more secured.

Regulatory - safety, emission, etc. certification. You can't sell the vehicles without these.
Union. You can't make the vehicles w/o them.
The people who booked the vehicles as produced. (not the people worked to produce vehicles.) You cannot fake the "high demands" without this.

Yeah, I wouldn't count on that, Skippy.

Only data analytics to remain untouched. Data is the future.

My understanding is that the April cuts were only in two areas. This next one will be much bigger and cover a lot more areas. I would expect them to be in the 10x range of the last cuts (580). Around 5500-6000. Remember, some of that will be open positions, but since we only have about 300 openings listed on the jobs site, I would expect north of 5000 actual layoffs of people.

I've heard July. I've heard August. My guess? Is certainly before Oct.

Many open headcounts in my department were cancelled this week. Not a layoff but there are actions ongoing. ITO here.
