The colleague who left has not yet been replaced. Part of his job is done by me now and it looks like it will be like that until further notice, or until I leave Allstate. While I hope that he will be replaced soon, at the same time I think more and more that they do not intend to hire anyone for his position.
What is the longest time it has taken Allstate to replace an employee? Has it ever happened that some were never replaced after they left?
Here in India we have many good talent who manage well. We graciously except tasks put before us to successfully reinvent and manage many insurance processes to enable good customers who rate experiences favorably. We are proud team and enjoy big blue oval. We wish some can visit operations, and likewise that some of our advanced associates can have privilege of coming to the United State offices to learn appropriately. Reduction through attrition, this is what Allstate has done before and what they are doing now.
To the person saying they have 1 manager to 30 people, that isn't too out of the norm for many companies, Allstate has been top heavy for years and they are probably realizing that now. I have been asking my manager what I can do to get promoted and yesterday during our one on one he said he doesn't expect any D or higher bands to open up anytime soon. He said several other areas have openings and he said when he tries to get them posted he is told we ill review to see if we even need those positions.
we havent had a manager in 2 months they went to other area and we do huddles with rotating us as managers our area may be shutting down or going to india it seems alot of confusion in the team
Allstate will have heavy direct report to manager ratios until the transformation is complete to India. You have to be self managed to work here right now.
My manager (claims) quit maybe six weeks ago and we are still running without a manager. I hope they replace him. Then another leader in our office also quit to go to the same carrier he went to so there are two empty manager jobs. We have one leader trying to manage 30 people which is not sustainable….hope they fix soon….
