I intend to leave because of the manager. I stayed because I thought that such a person would not be able to stay in that position for long, but I was wrong. Sam’s seems to have full confidence in the worst managers who wouldn’t last long in other companies. Still, I hope there are some good managers left here?

So the answer is NO! Hasn't been a good manager in that place for nearly 20 years! If you were in a public or private school, it would be called bullying! Managers, assistants and team leads ALL need to be replaced. Period. The end!
Certainly no good middle managers. Most are ladder climbing bullies who enjoy abusing their power under the guise of enforcing company policy, which coincidentally seems to be very pliable. They would gladly claw out your eyes to obtain the approval of their boss and make it up to the next rung in the corporate ladder.
