Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

I hope there will be no bigger cuts

Working here I've noticed that UHG almost always has some small layoffs that often get under the radar. This time I’m not so sure that they’re not planning bigger cuts. Any thoughts?

Everyone is talking about the recession and the air is thick. It wouldn’t surprise me if they decided to lay off significant number of people. I hope I’m just being paranoid and it won’t happen.

  1. Convert the “good” contractors to FTE’s
  2. Cut remaining contractors
  3. Hiring freeze
  4. Cut contractors
  5. Layoffs
  6. Wash, rinse, repeat….

You can count on a large layoff with the way the stock market is going along with this inflation. They would cut their mothers to preserve earnings.

There was just a big layoff yesterday in case management. Nurse case managers and their supervisors. Devastating.

Usually a hiring freeze is a warning sign
