I probably know all your names and you know mine:
Blue Cross of California
WellPoint
Anthem
Moved on in the early stages of the Anthem merger. There is life after the Cross. I have the best job of my life now. Going to try to stick to it till retirement.
Once upon a time I LOVED my Blue Cross job! I got a bunch of awards, bonuses and promotions. I felt like I was doing something worthwhile for people. I obsessed about getting it right and being the best employee I could be.
All that started to dry up once they incorporated. Anyone remember the meeting where WellPoint gifted us stock? How about he the one where we were all bussed off site and Mark Weinberg pretended to be Billy Joel? They promised us a huge fancy new corporate campus. The theme song was We Are The Champions. All lies. From that point on, we progressively became more and more the minions and grunts. I remember the changes like they were yesterday.
And how many managers have you reported to across the five companies? I have been at Anthem for 17 years and have had 12 different managers during that time period. I had less turnover in management working in consulting prior to joining Anthem. I have never seen such a constant reorg crazy company. Why do they think another reorg will fix what is wrong? .....from Albert Einstein: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”.
WellPoint
Anthem
Blue Cross CA
Empire (both of them)
Amerigroup
Simply
New Jersey and all the state level ones
so many
I am not Elevating, so I am Alleviating myself from this Elephant sized company of the Elaborate Escalation of Elite Elevance, so tired of this up and down Elevator.
I just used work minutes to post this :)
Slightly different path at the start, but same for me with 5.
