Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

What happened with rumored layoffs?

I haven't heard about any cuts recently. Did the rumors turn out to be false or did I miss something?

Depending upon definition we are either heading for a recession or already in one. With spending both political parties, cost of Covid etc my baby boomer exp says this is going to take us a few years to move upward. I no longer work at Anthem, but wouldn’t recommend making a job change now. Layoffs are imminent across companies and industries due to economy. Typically if you are last in, first out.

The one hope is that so many baby boomers are retiring freeing up openings. But the flip side is the loss of industry knowledge unless people have been sharing or training others. Good luck!

The stock price went down by at least 20% over the past 3 weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if the layoffs start again.

We are still hiring, new people coming in every week.

No layoffs. There are to many people leaving, to have a layoff.

Layoffs will always happen. Get used to it. The current set of "leaders" (trying hard to be overly cool) need extra colorful sweaters and stuff, that makes them look overly hip, trendy, and in the know.
