Hiring freezes is flat out asinine since there is already a severe shortage in the American work force. The current Administration is chock full of illogical and asinine policies.

I saw that fed discussion too..
Next set of layoffs will be all the people who get up to do calls with China. Those will end the moment China declares Taiwan to be reunified… oh and while we are at it the Philippines and Japan.
Wrong.

Media is starting to float the trial balloons. Conversations under way.
No, the US govt is not trying to get companies not to hire employees.
That doesn’t even make sense. That wouks not help inflation. Less employees > less goods > higher prices.
Hiring freeze will be the first warning. Government in US is calling big companies to start pushing for freezes as part of inflation control.
@jxq I think what they will do to mitigate supply chain issues in the case of touch labor is:
Cut hours up to and including furlough when parts are not available and work you 7 days a week 80 hours plus when parts are available supplemented with contract labor.
Salaried support personnel are the ones who will suffer the most.
Most of the gbe ‘s are doing well except HBT commercial security Europe. But that is related to poor leadership.
Given the current supply chain issues, I think there is going to be a layoff or furloughs this year. Especially if it will enable the executives to maintain their extreme compensation and bonuses. All the work, hassle and effort we put in is only to support the executive's compensation.
Honeywell only does layoffs when there are record profits
Don't worry about layoffs. Plant closures and relocating them lower cost regions. This will be the definite end for you.
Like Mr. Rogers neighborhood. Remember Eddie Murphy and Saturday night live. Today. Boys and girls. We're going to learn the word permanently laid off. Yes! There's a difference between layoff and permanent layoff.
One you come back and the other you never do. That's all folks. Expect never coming back in your future.
Probably not since the attrition is severe. But hey… this is Honeywell so you never know…
