After a bad 2020 and 2021, I expected this year to be much better. I really believed that there would be some positive changes. Obviously one shouldn't have any high hopes here? This year is very disappointing too. Now I just hope to find a way out of here by the end of the year.

Non Union CTL? As just a regular i&m tech? Hmmmm. Why wouldn’t you just be a union tech like the rest of the techs at ctl?
my boss at Lumen is just a joke --- depending on how well his meds are working he will say how good your doing followed by how you will get fired followed by an hour long diatribe on how we have to do better while admitting none of the managers above him know what is going on so no wonder he is confused
I worked for AT&T for 18 years as an I&R technician. It was a shithole. Yes, the money is right, but they have also been purging their employees. AT&T hates their employees more than any company I’ve ever worked for.
I next went to CTL which was great until jEFf sToReY took over. Then it was just another shithole. Left CTl after 8 years. I recommend finding another line of work. Federal and State jobs are the gravy nowadays.
I work with AT&T construction supervisor from California. He supervised crew of 12 for fiber construction.
Early 2021. His whole crew were laid-off in favor of contracting it out. He was also let go.

Hey you guys know there’s more to telecom than the copper dsl network right? That’s the work me and those three other guys did in CenturyLink… until we worked on the fiber network in AT&T. And yes every company lays off, but make hay while the suns shining… or bi--h and complain at CTL.
Quit non-union CTL 4 years ago and went to AT&T and in the meantime I've been able to poach three CTL/Lumen techs without much convincing to come over to AT&T with its around 30% higher union pay. The management is just as bad but that pay is correct.

Go read about what AT&T and Verizon are doing with Decommission of POTS by August 6 2022. Its scary. FCC gave all phone companies Green light to start and complete by August 2022.

We have two ex AT&T tech whom came to CTL.
They both say AT&T is worse than CTL.
They threatened techs who fix cable pairs instead of mounting wireless nids.
