Question for concho people at COP

Curious to hear from some concho people, I myself left on my own accord after the merger for some background context on myself.

I've heard some grumblings from people but nobody likes change that's for sure as well. Concho was a great place to work for no doubt and took good care of employees, I think COP is pretty good too but how has the experience been thus far comparing both sides.

I see Leach has been promoted I guess? or is this a semi retirement role he's been moved to since the merger and Concho been fully integrated by now. As an ex Concho person I wonder if we would have just held on, we would be sitting pretty right now, don't believe Concho had to sell out when we did, unless this was the plan all along but believe it may have been accelerated by some bad moves made and then came the pandemic.

Ryan Lance got Concho at a good price, and he and cop are reaping those rewards. Just curious to hear some opinions. Wish everyone the best.

Unfortunately, many of the older experienced folks who could have really added some value and trained a newer generation have been pushed aside and out of the company. This practice accelerated starting 10 years ago. There is a natural sequence to succession but a few highly placed execs were able to disrupt the cycle and placed inexperienced people who preach the narrative in key positions. The chaos and inefficiency you see is the result.

If you think the new leadership in Midland isn’t cut from the same fabric as the last one then I have some ocean front property to sell you

A significant change in the Conoco leadership in Midland has really helped make things smoother. We had an inexperienced and arrogant VP that couldn’t grasp Operations very well. Thankfully, he moved on. I’m giving this place a year to decide if I stay.
