UM Nurse

I am getting recruited to be a UM RN at United. How is the morale? Are the expectations unreasonable?

Unfortunately I agree with all of the above. 20+ years, always above or exceeds but all of that is forgotten when they start laying off. Now the work environment is so toxic its made me physically and mentally sick. I never had to take so much medicine. I have been looking for a company who treats their staff like human beings. Looking for RN, UM or CM work. Are there any good companies left in managed care :(

Run while you still can. The place is toxic.

Expectations of the new clinical platform are to automate much of UM. They need to be able to show savings after spending millions, year over year. This includes UHG and Optum. With automation less clinical staff will be needed.

Read thru posts here and Optum. It is bad and nurses are leaving. You loose ground monetarily the minute you take the job too. UM really bad....

I worked at both UHC and Optum... it sucks... Unless they are paying you a lot and you telecommute for your kids... it's not worth it.
