Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

Unfriendly staff

Just relocated from Florida to work here at an NYC Barnes and Noble and I’m finding the staff to be very unpleasant, now I’m from the south so maybe my sensibilities are a bit different but is that the norm here? I mean everyone at the store is just so sour, I already want to leave.

Working at Barnes/Noble now is not fun at all. The people you work with are just angry and depressed. NYC is on edge due to rising crime and being locked down for longer than other places. The former mayor Blasio was AWFUL. That didn't help.

Maybe they don’t align with your GQP mentality. I am surprised they even have BN in Florida, everyone knows GDP hates books. Plus, I have a feeling you might have a victim mentality.

Kinda proving the OP’s point about yanks being unpleasant. Florida has everything by the way, sunshine, beaches beautiful homes, no state income tax, g-ns and the right to carry em and yes Barnes and Noble as well.

B&N has been the worst to its employees in recent years- didn't you read this entire page?!!!

FIND A REAL JOB where the company treats its employees like humans and not garbage!

Yeah, people from the South, no matter your political affiliation, generally don't ever feel quite at home 'up North' because most folks will come off as rude. Ignore the guy trying to make it seem otherwise down below
