I'm sure I'm not the only one? Unfortunately, it seems that Mattel now puts a lot of pressure on employees so that they would leave without a package.
This is sad to hear. I left when my office was closed. At that time I felt Mattel treated us very well. The package was good and they provided ample time to find other work. I was fortunate last day was a Friday, started work at my new job on Monday. Got two paychecks for almost a year.
without a doubt. unlimited vacation days is a prime example of how they’ve cut back or try to avoid severance packages. no more payouts for unused vacation days and then there’s the performance reviews. it may take some time but they’ll wait you out. even if you’re meeting every last goal they’ll wait for one sc--w up (which you will be on edge trying to constantly be on your game filled with anxiety) so that they can write you up and build that case to eventually fire you without a dime. enjoy the ride, see a shrink and grab some meds and fight them tooth and nail.
You got that right. Mattel hates to pay people to leave these days, so they make life miserable until you quit. One Mattel.
