Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Layoffs and more changes coming

In the next few weeks there will be announcement on a few of the methods Allstate gets new customers, this will result in many recruiters not having a job to do. There will be an increased push to move more claims jobs overseas shortly too.

This is going to result in not only claims positions not being filled but recruiters in claims and recruiters who look for "agents" to be cut.

Take advantage of all the companies looking for new employees and find a new job before you are cut.

I think the OP must have some inside info as from what was said in the meeting layoffs are coming, my manager said it would be wise to start looking at options.

Just check on the HR guide; there will be an update to the severance packing. As soon as that happens the ax will fall.

Nah, severance not much of an option anymore. They will just pick you up and pass you around like a peace pipe to different areas where they can't keep anyone and the roles are just horrific. Either you will meander to these terrible roles and be miserable while filling the needs they have at the time or you will surrender in misery and leave on your own meaning the company pays out nothing for severance and nothing in unemployment in many states. It is quite simple. They will demean and demoralize you into submission where you would rather get out than worry about severance. The days of muddling around in your current role unmolested waiting for a tasty severance settlement package are gone with this company. They will either keep you in the most horrendous roles possible or you will leave on you own and the company is not obliged to you financially. Sad times.

When are you going to understand that severance is a pipe dream at this point. But those that are expecting it must also believe that the company has been transparent and cares about you and your family. That doesn’t seem to be the pro point of view on this site. Wake up
