Does the company have a vaccine mandate or not? We have constantly been told that we were to decide what is best for our families with regards to returning to the office. We have also been told that we were to either upload proof of vaccination or continue to work remotely. So what’s with all this red tape that we now have to go through to explain why we can’t return to the office?

Tested positive for employee moral…god, for COVID obviously — are you dense?
Tested positive for what?
We returned to the office last week. By Wednesday two of the people in my office tested positive.
Because they aren’t wanting people to work remotely full time for whatever reason. In the not too distant future Covid concerns or vaccination status will no longer be a basis for full time work from home. I’ve heard plenty of ultimatums being thrown around and I don’t think they care. But you can try it.
Basically there is a mandate de facto if not de jute. The recent return policy says we should be in the office 3 days per week and can work remote as agreed with your manager BUT you cannot enter if you have not uploaded proof of vaccination.
Perceived legal indemnification. You could probably upload a recent parking ticket and no one would think twice about it. There are reasons to be seen in the office, but with the price of fuel and automobiles you are likely better off not going if you don't have to do so.
