Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

How many talented people are left?

When I started working here, I was fascinated by all the colleagues who were great experts. Over time, the number of such employees declined, and the number of mediocrities increased. But now the situation is alarming because there are so few employees left here with such expertise.

Ya we don't need our 4.6 million DSL customers, and all the voice t1's in the rural areas will magically be replaced by fiber at 25 dollars per foot, brilliant. Synchronous Optical Network is the precursor to SD-WAN which is just another tunneling protocol. The funny part about your statement is that you don't realize that the TDM, DLC, SONET experts already understand the concept, do you, I doubt it.

All this company does is over promise and under deliver! Sound familiar?! Not only to its employees but stock holders as well! The executive team is the worst in the industry!

Most of the talent is at the upper management level. That was hard to say without laughing

I agree. Calling NOC tech support is waste of time anymore. Instead of you asking them questions. They ask you what have you done to fix it?
Thank God, We still do have few good one there.

Apparently you have not call for technical support. It is not expert at all. Like below novice. It’s like they know less than you did when called.

Lumen doesn't care abouts expert colleague you're referring to.
If they were legacy technology DMS, DLC, TDM, Sonet, dsl, and dialtone.
They are not wanted or needed.
