Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Doomed Strategy

We sold 6000+ in 1Q and customers have to wait more than 7 months for a low volume EV. This is our grand plan to succeed? Sketchy, at best.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E has remained in high demand since its launch over a year ago, though like every other vehicle on the planet at the moment, supply chain issues including the semiconductor chip shortage are making it difficult for FoMoCo to meet that demand. Many that have ordered a 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E have found themselves waiting a considerable amount of time to take delivery of their new vehicles recently, and now, the EV crossover’s build and price page is showing a current wait time of 32+ weeks.

Dear Bill Ford, I will never drive a Ford in my life. No distinction between ICE or EV required.

I recall a Ford President of Europe last year stated that an avg. ICE vehicle will take 300 chips. Avg for EVs is around 3k.
Also heard one of our NA VPs ay it will take 2-3 generations of EVs to make profit.
I have no idea what their strategy is anymore. I plan to go soon. feel sorry for those who stay.

We used to discontinue vehicles that sold only 6,000 in a quarter.
