Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Been laid off for a while now…

What is life like these days in the loco shops? Just curious should I decide to go back if called. Thank you.

If already laid off just move on , they want out of everything except pulling trains , beside that they are just bad people .

At my location supervision says they put there time in with 12yrs service to get weekends off but craft guys with more time can't touch the weekends!

No point in waiting on a dying company. So your self a favor. Go look for something else.

Yes I remember the good old days in the shops , actually did not take long to make it to first shift , great days off Tuesday Wednesday , Then psr hit took 13 years but I finally made it to 3rd shift. Great place to work. Glad to be gone now …

You ever see that movie where the ship is sinking and there isn’t anything you can do to save it?

It’s nice. 4 out of 5 stars. Some supervisors are worse than others, but some mechanics are worse than there too, so that’s just life. Only thing horrible is having 20+ years of service and still stuck with bad days off and no chance for 1st shift.

Other than that it’s a dream come true!!!
