Yesterday I got a call from a third party vendor setting up an appointment to meet with my agent to review my policies. I fell off my chair in disbelief because as a SF policyholder for 45 plus years, it's the first time anyone made a call requesting I meet with my agent to review my policies. Maybe SF is doing something right like finally making agents do the work they contracted to do for the policyholders.

I have been “giving it a try” for over 30 years, granted I’m on the 97 contract but my percentages are accurate. Used to be a lot higher when scorecard bonus first rolled out, some agents are still pulling six figure bonuses off that, not many however, that involves too much work and over staffing, I chose to run my agency the way I want and yes I make a great living just coasting, frankly I paid my dues so why would you give a F?
@2cki. If you think it’s so cushy (and actually believe 12% of your premium goes into the agent’s pocket) give it a try. Get through internship and now you have that cushy deal that’s bankrupting half of the people who have it.
Time to cut back on what premium boy makes. Time to not over insure. Premium boys are all alike.
My banker loves premium boy, so does my broker, and car dealer. Think of it this way, 10-12% of every insurance dollar you pay goes into your premium boys pocket, 1200-1500 jag offs like you make for a great life for me.
you waited 45 years … for someone to call you…. to review YOUR coverages that you chose? so much for personal responsibility.
Paranoid much? There is medicine for that-call your shrink.
Remember....it's VPA's that control agents books of business. It's a lifestyle for people who want to fit into their narrative. The VPA's are in control of their production and their income. It's just as bad if not worse than operations. IMO it's all a sneaky disgusting underground controlled by a narrative that is anything but the truth. Has been that way and will always be that way. Remember......they all sleep together.
@1ffr….yes they knew. And they took a risk, because that’s what agency minded people do. But it’s such a bad deal that lives have been setback by it. And word is out, so SF is really struggling to hire agents. I realize it’s not as tough as you missing out on select a gift, though. That’s rough.
Dude, you sold your soul to the devil when you gave up control of your life by agreeing to suck the corporate ck for 30 years. How does that feel?
I wouldn't become a premium boy. No way I would sell my heart to the devil.
@1ffr They knew what they were getting into when they signed up. Unilateral contracts.
Finally had a contract announcement of sorts yesterday. The TICA year is no longer a thing. That indicates State Farm needs agents, can’t hire any, and is trying to make the whole agency “opportunity” more palatable. Some of you think it’s such a breeze. But operations folks don’t go bankrupt trying to earn a job during the first year. Most new agents have been doing exactly that for a while now.
NOT FAKE!
fake post as usual
Gotta pay to retain those easy money policyholder and long timers. Price gouge the rest
Fake post. Maybe true for some today, but agents have always made money by talking to people and writing policies. Nothing else works to provide income.
Might want to switch agents. I get a call once a year to either come in or set up a call. Helped me avoid a pretty big coverage gap in my homeowners policy.
