At first I was very happy when I got the job offer from direct competitors. It's not easy to go to work for competitors after many years spent here though. Maybe for some it is?

By “budget parts” don’t you mean the gpu dumpster fire that is Xe and the gaggle of village id--ts that pretend to develop it?
Enjoy that. At least you can focus on building budget parts instead of whatever top end component you are involved with today.
