Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

I think we can safely say that layoffs are off the table for the foreseeable future

So sit back and relax, friends. We're doing well and we'll continue to do so for a while to come.

Layoffs now mean higher profits. Execs love layoffs to feed their stock options. CVX only pretends to care about you.

Yes, buy that BMW, go to Kenya for vacation, buy a house inside the loop and spend $500,000 remodeling it. Then you'll REALLY be whining on The Layoffs when you (inevitably) get laid off...

Don't be lulled into a false sense of security from elevated crude prices. MW is just itching to reduce head count again..he has to feed his layoff addiction.

Yeah, high prices and high attrition is gonna shield us for a bit.

We may see targetted actions in BUs or functions that are performing poorly.

They're also off the table because our attrition won't be slowing down anytime soon. Who needs layoffs when people will just quit and not make you pay any severance packages!

High oil prices have always followed by crash, when that to happen is not know but I rather to see steady oil prices around 65 to 75 than what we see now, once the crash happens layoffs will follow.

High oil prices always shelter staffing at Chevron. Things should be safe at least until the Ukraine situation is resolved.

We’re in a regular pattern. We’ll get more in a few years. Execs get that 3 year itch after major reorgs, but we’re safe for now.

That's wrong. Expect 10% next year.

As long as MW sits in SR there will always be layoffs .

Yeah right. With MW in charge you know he's going to want to do more layoffs at some point. He loves them!
