Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Dear greenhorns

I understand this might be the first job for many of you since Honeywell is having trouble hiring and will take anybody at this point, but that doesn't mean you're going to get special treatment. I'm not going to tell you you did a good job if you didn't do a good job. I'm not going to do your job for you either, no matter how many times you try to get me to under the guise of showing you something I've already shown you several times before! You want to work? Then buckle up and work. Or quit and find a place that'll be happy to coddle you. Honeywell is not it.

Sorry, I needed to vent.

I’ve been gone now for over 10 years. I worked in aero for over 20 years. My interpretation is this message thread represents the culture Honeywell leadership has created. I seriously doubt this culture will be successful. Changing this culture will be next to impossible.

Yes, your job has a training and mentoring requirement. If you are not willing to do it, then quit.

@1eku+1fz8jH7g.
Sorry to offer microffenses.. I am not alone.

There is agism at honeywell. It is rooted in the entitled low performers who need early bed times. The new generation is laughing at you behind your back. You get angry because you know it is true. Not all the tech leaders are like this.. there is a bell curve.. there are some who still come back and do more than criticize and silence the conversation. Which end of the curve are you? Who told you that?

consider this a peer review.

Here a suggestion. Dump the fake titles and bands.

Engineers are engineers. Finance is finance. Programs mgt is now Product Owner..
And loose the superhero capes they gave out to managers that somehow made all managers "senior managers" and most directors "senior directors".

Hey Mgmt are you paying attention? Mgmt and the OP deserve each other. When it all implodes on itself you can blame each other.

Dear snowflake child,

When the apprentice is ready, the master appears.
You will learn nothing so long as you think you know it all.
Your disrespect for the achievements of others is immature. The senior personnel have spent their careers earning their positions. Grow the f@#k up!
I was doing this job very well long before you were a dirty thought in your parents' minds. I don't need you to validate what I have known about myself for decades.
I am not your trainer and I owe you nothing more than respect as a fellow human being.
Your generation is "stressed out" and is "anxious" about damn near everything and nothing. Constructive criticism is a path to great personal growth. Learn to deal with it and use it for your own benefit.
Go out and fail spectacularly without fear so that you can learn how not to do some things.
I am not obligated to give you any of my work. When I do, I share in the credit.
I don't need you to be successful, because I've done your job and can still do it. You cannot do my job or claim credit for what I do because you do not yet have the experience needed.
Show respect for the people that have built what you know have the luxury of enjoying. And one day, you too, will say the same things to the next generation of green entitled youth that are desperately in need of seasoning.

OP...ok jack@##. That's not the way to build a strong team. That kind of attitude is terrible and we all aren't like that. Nothing wrong with explaining again and give it a different approach. Or don't and fail as a leader. People are best at different things. The fact they kept asking should at least show interest. Don't want to help, ok, step back and just do. Go find peace. Or don't. Eventually, you'll need help too.

I bet you think that you are too important to be training new people.
Fine, take a demotion to Eng 3 and be a worker bee because mentoring is part of a Band 4s responsibility. Clearly are not perform.

Dear greybeard knowitall probably a fellow
I see your name in a meeting and cringe.
You are right.. we dont learn your flaunted wisdom.
Is this surprising?
You confuse ridicule with instruction.
You confuse bestowed titles with earned respect.
You criticize my work without offering any of your own.
We dont learn from you lessons because they are delivered on a whip.
Join my team and deliver on schedule like everyone else.
Write code, do drawings, accept good ideas, cheer others succes without claiming it.
Then i will listen and learn your lessons.
Drop the titles, join my team, or just dont come to my meetings.
Arrogant.

sounds like a good way to create an even bigger toxic work culture than what the company already has. This is why this company is failing. Too many miserable and negative employees continue working at the company and affecting everyone. Even though I hate working at this company I am actively looking for a new job. For some reason tons of people hate working here but still want to stay continue working at the company for some reason which doesn't even make sense to me.

You sir sound like an awful person to work with. Yet if you claim to know your sh-t and treat people poorly why don’t you leave this dinosaur of a company and find a better one? A: Because you can’t. People with these attitudes are toxic. Good workers bring those up they work with. Poor workers use every scapegoat they can find for their own failure to execute.
