From what I can see, there are no more properly staffed teams at DXC. The lucky ones are only missing a few people, the unlucky ones have to work with bare bones, but there's nobody who can say they have all the people they need. The company found a great way to save money: load the rest of us with extra work "temporarily" and then pretend there's nobody qualified available to hire. We shouldn't let them get away with this, but we do.

Oh come on. Properly staffed teams? They've laid off most of the staff, and a lot of the staff who weren't laid off have left to go someplace better. If you're still there, ask yourself why? There's plenty of opportunity outside DXC, and it's not difficult to go get it.
Of course, you could stay, and work even longer hours as more people leave. While you're delivering they'll "reward" you with poor / no rise, no bonus (unless you're Mike & Mary), and a totally meaningless annual appraisal.
Then they'll lay you off and give your work to a graduate in a cheap country, probably India. This will upset another client, who'll go elsewhere. And DXC will shrink just a little bit more.
I got out after facing multiple rounds of WFR. I was "saved" from WFR a few times, but it didn't feel like being saved, it felt like a jail sentence. Each time I was "saved" meant my workload went up as I had to cover work that would have been done by someone else. So I quit and found a decent employer who actually pays bonuses, and understands concepts of inflation......
Stay if you want, but I've quit and so should you!
It's up to you, work 40 maybe 45 hours a week and no more if your on Salary. If hourly then work as much as you want to and the more you work the more you get paid.
If work doesn't get done, they will move the target date back or hire more people. If they ask why your only putting 45 max hours a week say DXC values are PEOPLE 1st and thats all you get paid for.
Same everywhere, they don’t care. If people do the extra work then it was your fault because you were lazy, you can cope with this level “temporary” 1y or 2y until you are really burned out so you leave. Then you will be replaced by someone cheaper or just the rest of the team will be forced to do your job with no replacement.
Anyway is a win/win in cost cutting until everything explodes which bytheway seems to be close
