Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Hypothetically speaking

I'm trying to imagine State Farm where the leadership agreed that they all need to make less.
Do you really think that would solve the issues of this company?

Yes it would and I’m not just talking about State Farm. CEOs and executives all across the board have become to greedy in their paychecks and have been neglecting their employees. This is why unions have been making a comeback. It happened during the industrial revolution for better working conditions, pay and benefits. Why because the CEOs/company owners didn’t care about their employees and were to greedy. It is happening now for the same reasons. The difference in wealth between the classes has grown to wide and the middle class, who are the back bone of this nation is disappearing at a fast rate. So decreasing their salary to increase the employees salary would help solve some of the issues

Not even a little bit. If you knocked them all down to $250k/annual and could get them to stay for that... it would not make a single difference in the day to day.

Focus, and prioritize. You can achieve what you aspire to. You’ll never obtain what you envy.

Executive pay in the whole scheme of expenses is microscopic. Executive pay is on par or in some case less than competitors (think stock companies.) The problems are due to the operating model, compounded by turnover. Fix the model, you fix the turnover. Pay will always be a function of the marketplace.

What the execs get paid is the problem.
They are trying to save their pay by making horrible estimatics decisions (two weeks for a fu----g in person inspection… no other top insurance company does that) and by cutting staff (did you think they’re really hiring? It’s just all talk until you hit the road then they’ll keep telling lies to your replacement if they decide to replace you).

When I think of all the problems at State Farm, what my boss gets paid is not one of them.

The biggest issues are the operating model, the metrics, and estimatics procedures.

What leaders are being paid is not a concern to me. It would solve nothing.
