EV Quality will be better? Why? How?

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid models due to an issue with the engine crankshaft.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the engine crankshaft may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can result in engine damage.

The hazards: in affected vehicles, the crankshaft surface finish was improperly polished. Improper surface finish can cause excessive friction and heat, resulting in premature bearing wear and engine knocking noise. If the vehicle is driven in this condition, it will lead to bearing failure or a broken connecting rod that may result in an engine stall, significant engine oil loss, and fire, increasing the risk of crash and injury.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Components: engine crankshaft.

Affected vehicles: select 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid models produced between April 6th, 2021, through May 17th, 2021, at the Ford Louisville Assembly Plant.

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2021-2022 Ford E-Series E-350 and E-450 vehicles with dual rear wheels over an issue with the power steering pressure line and the brake Hydroboost unit.

The defect: in affected vehicles, an inadequate connection between the power steering pressure line and the brake Hydroboost unit may result in a sudden loss of power steering fluid.

The hazards: a sudden loss of power steering fluid can result in a loss of power steering and power brake assist, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford Motor Company is not aware of any crashes or injuries related to this condition.

Components: power steering pressure line connection.

Affected vehicles: select 2021-2022 Ford E-Series E-350 and E-450 vehicles with dual rear wheels built at the Ford Ohio Assembly plant between May 11th, 2019, through June 17th, 2021.

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2022 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator models due to a fuel filler tube that can become detached from the fuel tank.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the fuel filler tube can become detached in the event of a crash.

The hazards: in affected vehicles, the fuel filler tube could potentially become detached, diagnostic trouble codes P0456, P0442, P0455, and P04F0 may show, and a malfunction indicator lamp may not be activated. If the fuel filler hose becomes detached during a crash, a fuel leak may occur.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Components: fuel filler tube.

Affected vehicles: select 2020 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator models produced at the Ford Chicago Assembly Plant between December 6th, 2021, through January 6th, 2022.

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2017-2022 Ford Super Duty F-250 and F-350 models over an issue with the aluminum driveshaft in gas-powered models.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the underbody thermal/acoustic insulators may loosen and contact the aluminum driveshaft, resulting in marking or scoring of the driveshaft. Over time, the aluminum driveshaft may fracture due to a localized overload condition caused by material thickness reduction.

The hazards: a fractured driveshaft may result in loss of motive power while driving, unintended vehicle movement while the vehicle is in park if the parking brake is not applied, and secondary damage to surrounding components. A fractured driveshaft may also contact the ground which may cause loss of control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of an injury or crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: driveshaft.

Affected vehicles: select gas-powered 2017-2022 Ford Super Duty F-250 and F-350 trucks.

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2021-2022 Ford Mustang models over an issue with the front passenger knee airbag.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the front passenger knee airbag may have been produced with insufficient welds.

The hazards: an insufficient weld on the front passenger knee airbag may result in an improper airbag deployment.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Components: front passenger knee airbag.

You're talking about EV quality, but all of these parts on are ICE vehicles too lol. Maybe you can argue it's the same.

@OP. Upper manglement are not used to think beyond the brown stuff in their noses, and Bill Ford came with a very simple arithmetic way of alleviating the quality issues: EVS use half the number of parts of an ICE, so we'll reduce quality issues by 50%. With that saved money, we can create more woke executive positions!!!

Counting down days until Mach-Es start catching on fire and burning peoples' garages (and houses of attached) down. You know it is coming.

Wow, when I first glanced at the title of this post I thought "EQUALITY", then I though, wait a second, that's banned. It should be "EQUITY".

See DEI training IS working. It's now in my subconscious. You'll get it too at some point.

Quality won’t ever be better because Ford doesn’t care about quality! We are a data sales company, and even our data is poor quality and useful to no one. Don’t look behind the curtain, just believe the press releases they write about themselves. And buy a camera for your vehicle because the door locks we sell you don’t keep anyone out.

EV quality better? LOL. Too much focus on cost cutting. Too much time wasted in useless meetings reporting BS to management. Details, details and more details lost from everyone just "phoning" in work from home. Not keeping suppliers held accountable. On and on..
