Our store manager lectured us this morning and told us not to discuss the company's problems and failure on social media or we will be fired. This includes talking about any stores that have closed recently.
The company doesn't want us to know when exactly the whole company will close down for good and doesn't want us to scare off what customers are left.
Well, your threats are empty! And I will continue to report here anything I find out.
You may have intimidated many employees in the past but I don't scare that easily.

We were told if we say anything negative about the company online we would be terminated immediately. But they can't trace us here, lol. Our manager is awful and sales have been very bad so I can't see us staying open much longer. I really don't know how this company keeps going. Someone said it's similar to how Sears went out.
What is happening sounds a lot like 2018. I had a manager tell me that a certain district in the SW United States carried the entire company over the holiday season. Is this true? I find this very hard to believe. If it is, BN is doomed, and I hope they go down quickly. I can always get my books from other sources. Remember, down with Daunt and BN forever!

I bet all the managers are panicking because sales are in the shltter. It's even worse than last year.
They're already making everyone harrass customers into buying stuff they don't want again! I'm sure they'll be pushing those useless member cards even more.
What a horrible place with horrible management.
Did the same thing with the mass firing in 2018 ! Lied to the press saying they laid off 1800 when the true number was over 3000 and we were warned not to divulge the truth. A lot of customers stopped supporting BN after that. ( the magazine and receiving NEVER ran smoothly after) Those fired had to sign that they wouldn’t say anything against the company. They couldn’t enforce that either. Several posted, named names & places and there were no repercussions.
This is nothing new, we were given this same lecture years ago. The managers are the biggest problem. Is it professional and ethical for your regional manager to pit the employees of one store with another?
