Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

More will leave

When I talk to colleagues, most are very seriously planning to leave. This means that those who stay will have a bigger workload. I really hope that this company has a plan how to keep people whose workloads are already unbearable?

More people leaving? I've said it before it's all talk, these old timers have no intention of going anywhere. They actually are stupid thinking a buyout is coming before brightspeed take over August 1, 2022. LOL.....

Lumen selling their buildings is just too obvious for these buffoons. The reason they don’t sell them is they want to control their employees every move and make. They are microscopic managers and yes men! What purpose would you need management when employees are working from home? They are basically maintaining their existence! Quite pathetic indeed! The office and moral within that company will never be the same again!

No doubt more people are leaving. Lumen operates on such old business practices they are shooting themselves in the foot trying to exert useless and unattainable business models. Why in the heck would you not let employees WFH, and sell the real estate when prices are at their highest? Is it some kind of flex? Where is the circus that is advising these monkeys?

Don't be fooled by techs with time invested in here that keep saying if they get a buyout they will leave. Never happen they had it so good and won't have the opportunity to kiss a*s anywhere else for what they are getting paid. Some of these old mo--ns are well over 65 in here and when brightspeed takes over it will be too late and a very hard dose of reality lesson. The old school telecom techs are just as pig headed greedy and upper levels of management. Unions IBEW and CWA just as useless.

Culture change? That's all we've had since Storey took the reigns...culture change for the worse. Expect more of the same. He didn't come to fortify the company but rather to eliminate revenue streams that don't align with his vision and ki-l the phone company as we've known it. Pretty much the same vision that everyone one else who bought us tried to do. Unfortunately, the PUC isn't putting up any resistance anymore. Stay the course and take what you can until you find something better.

I'm a lucky Gen X enjoying samet thing Baby boomers are enjoying. Able to buy affordable homes, Pension, Pension healthcare, descent liveable wages.

Sad for Mellennials and Gen Z. Their days are all uphill from here.

To the baby boomer guy….your job security and those wages were due to “regulations” and an unfair monopoly that congress had to break up!?!? Now we are seeing what happens in a true capitalist economy!! That does not equate to you “being the best gosh darn employee known to civilization that made twice as much as me”….if that were the case, all legacy employees shouldn’t have a problem finding comparable work for the same wages anywhere however, the market is not paying for all your wisdom and hard work ethic now are they?!?!? Ohhhhh…let me guess, it’s the gen z’ers fault that we are stuck in this “sh@@tty contract” you worked so hard for as well! Thanks for picking up your ball and going home, your participation trophy for all those years will carry you through retirement….not the case for many others!

Hey folks….I believe it’s called sarcasm!!! Try re-reading with tongue-in-cheek mindset versus “p•ssed off at the world” mindset….trust you and I, management is out looking for new jobs as well and may be trying to sabotage what few people are left there!

To the gen z kid they had a guy he did the job better than you and was paid twice what you are. He left because of toxicity but if you keep asking for raises you will never make what he did. The system is rigged. The more you know!!!

LOL !! Weasley little managers that shudder to have something escalate over their head come on a message board to make threats….

“Yep, we have a plan…it’s called “culture change”. Seems to us, you have not been doing your training otherwise this question would not be proposed! Hope you did not use your work PC to create this post…IT will be fondly aware of your feelings now, good luck in future endeavors!”

This company doesn’t care about your workloads! This is by far the worst, selfish, horrible employer I’ve ever worked for in my lifetime. The old mentality that you should be happy to have a job doesn’t fly anymore. They got away with that mentality for years and the pandemic finally broke its back.

Managers posted it above!!
We are not fools!

Funny I keep reading and hearing this throughout the company…I am doing just fine and even received a larger raise than I expected!! Just have to know how to market yourself and ask the right way…must just be my “Gen Z” education and way of thinking, but surely this company would not discriminate on that so it must be you, jus sayn!!
