Any time my manager or TL text and ask question they do a time adjustment for my time i spent communicating with them, but if this isn't being done than yes you are working off the clock
ONLY while on the click or fill out an ETA form.
My old manager said that was one of his requirements to answer texts off clock. I never answered them. Got chewed out often but he couldn’t write me up for that reason. Give no other reason for a coaching
As I tell people. You can send me a message but I only respond at clock-in. Don’t send me anything important.
What was the meeting about none of our team leads or managers were involved lol
Yeah, go put in a 4 hour time adjustment for a text you received in a group text and let me know how that works out for you.
@riy You must be one of the crooked managers trying to bully folks into working 'off the clock' or maybe the lover of one of them. Fire me for refusing to work off the clock. I dare you.
Lots of people here want to see you get fired.
Reporting pay is 4 hours. There aren’t supposed to be shifts less than 4 hrs. If they contact you off the clock, ETA 4 hours for your time.
Either ignore it or fill out electronic time adjustment. If it’s in an app where you’re physically tagged and get a notification, you can start your clock in time for the time of the notification, and if all you think about is work after that, you can be paid until you go to sleep and stop thinking about it. I racked up 100 hours last week and only worked 5 days. They cannot deny your pay because if you’re thinking about work while you’re not there, you’re technically working.
Just leave the group chat, or simply don't respond when you're not at work. It's quite simple, really. If you are not on salary and on-call, or hourly but being paid to be on-call and respond in this group chat... then you are under zero obligations to acknowledge its existence outside of work hours. Period.
It sure is, put in an ETA
