First, Salvino rants about people not using their full names to ask questions when only one person had not provided their surname at that point. Second he gets outraged, and refers to questions as horrible and terrible that are fair questions. (And calls everyone who upvoted them toxic and part of the culture problem.) Being a CEO is about being able to handle tough, uncomfortable questions. Asking about mass exodus from a business, or for an explanation of a 1% increase when inflation is running higher are not mean vindictive toxic questions. They are questions that should have rational answers -- people upvote them for that reason -- they're fair questions. (And oh the irony when he also went on and on about how our competitors are bleeding people.)
You know what's truly toxic? The forced toxic positivity. The pretending that the emperor has clothes. The hypocrisy of "please ask questions, there's no retaliation" and then attacking people if you don't like their question. Why on earth would anyone ask a question using their name after that performance?

The EMEA townhall was much better because Mike S didn't join. But still no commitment to do the "right thing " and suspend executive pay increases , bonus , free stock and use that money to give fair increases to the people support our customers directly.
Don't say its not done, as the company my wife works for did just that! Gave every person $1,000.00 US to set up work from home space as they went virtual 1st before DXC even thought of it.
Aprilnearly here, price rises everywhere , becoming un manageable on the finances.
Is Mike and go going to make any announcements for a raise?
Or is it heads in the sands until the pips squeezed and squeeze.
How would a multi million dollar men and women know how the men and women on less than 50k survive.
Mike you need to engage with people, not ignore them if you are a true leader.
Ptin blocks FB to hide the truth, M2 deletes a recording of the town hall train wreck.
Hmmmm
Both in denial!
For me it looks like Mike2s time is over soon. He got three years to turn arrround the sinking ship with his playbook.
Still revenue is shrinking, customers are not happy and the moral stays at all time lows.
Get your golden parachute ready Mike!
I apologise to earlier poster who said
"The recording of the townhall is no longer available. Ashamed perhaps?"
I thought they were just stirring but no DXC really have removed/blocked the town hall recording. Unless it's just a technical glitch, it's a shocking action
Glad I left DXC years ago. Sounds like the guy has completely lost it and driven and even bigger wedge between himself and the workforce. CEO's can get angry, but it always damaging if they show it towards the workforce. Leaders need to be able to treat people in their workforce with dignity and respect, even if they don't necessarily agree with those people. All I can see here is more damage to the trust model, employee engagement broken, low morale impacting on productivity.
All that Town Hall seems to have done is confirm the CEO doesn't care and likely has given an extra boost to the attrition.
The recording of the townhall is no longer available. Ashamed perhaps?
Did anyone pick up on the wording by Steakcutter 2 near the end of the town hall?
She said something along the line of "We are keeping the profit for our bonus".
Does this mean "our" bonus as in the whole company or is the meaning "Our, the LT's bonus"?
Wow im shocked, they gave a whole 1%... after years of nothing. No wonder people are asking. So glad I ditched this sess pit 3 years ago.
Will Michael apologise for his outbursts at staff?
When he says people first, is it really senior Management first as they are on millions and the rest on 1%.
Sometimes unfortunately many a true word is spoken in anger, but he has chance to apologise by putting people first.
April pay review at inflation +
Not too much to ask for, come on Micheal you've made a mistake but you put this right.
very true comment. Sad but true, that is what happened.
in case anyone is reading this wondering why people are saying this.... you need to listen to Session 2 of the town hall....not Session 1.
Guess they might have taken it down, if they haven't hurry!
BIG question, who will actually say something on a townhall, saying here DOES NOTHING!
I have just watched the town hall and am disgusted at M2's attitude.
He sounds as if he is on the same planet as Ptn. Definitely not on this planet.
His ranting about other companies attrition etc, sounded just like he was describing DXC, but trying to deflect us to thinking it is about other companies.
This pllck needs to get out of this company along with his cohorts and let a good leader take over.
As for virtual first, saying that "we are the only company with virtual first". Thats a crock of sh*t, many companies that I am aware of are only going back in the office if it needs to be.
Do the Right Thing, Mike S doesn't have a clue.
People Focused --> LOL
Transparency -- more bull cr-p
Customer Focused
Integrity NOT from Mike S
I couldnt believe what I was hearing, our CEO failed to demonstrate a single DXC Core Value in that townhall, and as for not listening that's a bit rich coming from him, he clearly is not listening. Also didn't he say there was no intimidation in DXC and the proceed to threaten employees who dared to disagree with the ticking time bo-b that is Virtual First or ask perfectly valid questions about cost of living.
He's a disgrace and every townhall he is allowed to talk freely in does more harm than good. From now on should just only let the EMEA finance guy with the smiley faces out in town hall at least he appears competent, knows what he's talking about and doesn't threaten staff.
The CEO turned that town hall into a botched job. He broke the code of conduct (that he himself rolled out two weeks ago), multiple times, in front of thousands, if not tens of thousands of employees. He effectively wasted a whole lot of money and resources on a training that no one will take seriously from this point on forward.
My guess is that his temper got the better of him when he got confronted with genuine, uncomfortable questions. Issues like inflation, skyrocketing attrition, virtual-first, rock-bottom employee morale, and a toxic culture are real and should be addressed openly and respectfully. Him attacking those employees is simply putting fuel on the fire.
As for virtual first, saying that "we are the only company with virtual first" is a whole new level of delusion. Must be nice. Just because you're the only one doing it, doesn't mean that it works. It certainly doesn't do the "positive" culture any good that you're trying to push, or shifting the costs for utilities and facilities to your employees whom are currently facing sharp inflation. All the while due to this leadership's team complete lack of pragmatism.
What a way to end the fiscal year. I hope the CEO is proud of himself. I'd suggest that he starts working on his temper before it'll cost his job... and perhaps his reputation.
M2 says Tone is Important. Our values are do the right thing! Well don't use the 1 billion to buy back shares, just to artificially bring the share price up and make you richer. Split that money to us working stiffs as a bonus !
M2 says Tone is Important.
I guess that's everyone else's tone.
That town hall was a train wreck.
The questions upvoted by the staff weren't out of order, they were addressing the issues most of us feel.
It's not moaning Mike when we are being swamped with inflation and home fuel bills going through the roof while DXC has managed to hoard $1bn in the bank (mainly through us all working from home) that they are about to spend on SHARE BUY BACKS.
"Act with integrity" Mike - or didn't you read our core values? Or are they just as worthless as the ones M1 had written.
Sounds like mk2 shows his real colors when he’s barely pressured. His actions and tone are embarrassing. What a joke. But He doesn’t care, he and steak cutter 2.0 will collect their millions while the employees left will be stuck holding the bag.
Absolutely shocking by Mikey, and the steak cutter 2 just sat there warbling on about nothing. Embarrassingly bad town hall. He was surprised those questions got upvoted???
Mike’s angry tone is not acceptable and goes against the message he’s trying to get across. Lead by example please!
Everything above is right on target. If cash is KING, why is DXC planning on using 1 >billion dollars to by back stock. I 'll tell because it will make Mike S and the other >executives richer when the stock goes up.
If he takes that 1 billion and gives to all 130,000 employee's we would all get $7,698 >bonus money and that would help moral
Its a complete waste to dilute the $1B in share buybacks which get forgotten and swamped by external events. If Mikey2 can't think of anything productive to do with the money give half to investors in the form of a one off dividend (approx $2 per share) and the other half as a one-off morale boosting bonus of $4000 to every employee - impact and effect of that would be much more long lasting
It would make better long-term career sense for him if he just stayed quiet and waited for his golden parachute to deploy.

So Sal is still an angry man. I get it. I get why he's an angry man.
First, he's a proven good leader of businesses. He had a lot of success before DXC.
Second, DXC ain't working, despite everything he does.
Why isn't it working? Because he's moved too slowly. He should have stopped the Mike L cuts the moment he took over, instead he let WFR continue for over 12 months - losing good people and continuing to annoy good customers. Now he's trying to do something about it, but the ship is already sinking fast. The best staff have left of their own accord. The best customers have gone elsewhere.
DXC's reputation was almost beyond repair when he took over. Then he just didn't move quickly enough to stop the damage. Now he's an angry captain in charge of a ship that is inexorably sinking. Sorry Sal, too little, too late.
People with money:- "Money isn't important"
Easy to say 1% is enough when 1% of your salary could buy my house!
Disgraceful tone to use with employees, especially when these questions are coming from a place of just getting by and paying the bills.
i suspect he knows he only has one more year of bonuses for shrinking the company even further, then he'll be "pursuing new exciting opportunities" elsewhere, or more likely now he's trashed his reputation, "spending more quality time" with his family
Disgraceful - shameless CEO, he's not up to the job and time for him to fall on his sword.
Mike you said "people would say the rises aren't enough", how can 1% be enough when inflation is 7% plus?
If 1% good then show it by not taking $20 million but take the 1% of $40k which is supposedly good.
Shame the management who were all so smug on the call can get shares but it's not possible for staff as they obviously not as deserving.
All sorts of excuses why not.
So clearly one rule for the top, get all the benefits, and a different rule for staff be happy with 1%.
Shame not leading from top. Why are you surprised when staff complain at 1%.
Awww... Why so angry Mikey? Last year's bonus wasn't large enough for you??
