Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Both customers will be disappointed. Sizzle, not steak for options.

Seriously, what a waste of time for a low volume, high cost option.

The refreshed 2022 Ford Expedition was revealed back in September with updated styling, the addition of the Expedition Timberline and Expedition Stealth Edition Performance Package, as well as a host of new features, inside and out. One of those features is an enhanced rear-seat entertainment system, but now, it seems that this particular option has been delayed, as it’s currently listed as “late availability” in Ford’s official Expedition build and price configurator.

For the 2022 Ford Expedition, FoMoCo revised the SUV’s rear-seat entertainment system by giving it Amazon’s Fire TV 10, which lets rear passengers access a wide variety of content through any number of applications. The system’s screens, which are mounted to the back of the front seat headrests, are high-definition and boast 16 gigabytes of storage, allowing passengers to stream TVs and movies, play video games, listen to music, watch downloaded programs, and get information.

The optional rear entertainment system is available on XLT, Timberline, Limited, and King Ranch trims and includes four-way manually-adjustable front row headrests for the cost of $1,995. This isn’t the first time an optional feature on the 2022 Ford Expedition has been delayed, as the Timberline’s underbody transmission shield is also a late availability option, as Ford Authority reported earlier this week.
