Some managers just can’t wait to get back into the office so that they do political posturing. “Hey boss, look at me, I’m managing people. Look over here.” It’s sad because that’s all that they have to offer, that’s all they know. They don’t have a clue as to how or what their people are doing, they just have to be seen shouldering surfing in public. At the end of the day they think to themselves “I think they bought it.”

Now that gas will be as high as we’ve ever seen, I’ve not heard any drum beating from posters here on “I can’t wait to get back into the office”.

Even before the pandemic I did not go to the office 2 days a week. I went in once a month to keep my badge active.

I don't have a team to be "better together" with at my site, so I will go back to my norm after the 21st.

Yes, that does seem to be the norm.

I just heard from an ex-coworker who left C 18 months ago. They not only hired on making much more $ but have had TWO raises and 1 large bonus since then.
Compared to Citi……ouch.

Heard folks at BofA are refusing to return to the office in masses.. Wish Citi employees had the same plan- I’d
Join em! They can’t fire everyone…

To whoever said “ So work wants you to go to work. Welcome to to adulting.”….
Who do so when you can work elsewhere for more $ if 100% remote.

Welcome to being marketable and having choices to go elsewhere. LOL

I myself has always put in more hours if working from home. On this I don’t mind playing the game. If they want to pay me to go in just so that I can login to a video meeting no worries. I’ll be glad to take their money and go home. On those days I go into the office, they get 8 hours and no more. I’ll not be logging in that afternoon when I go home. If it doesn’t get done in the office, it doesn’t get done. On the days I work from home they get more from me. Welcome to earning my pay and no more than that.

Of course its stupid, therefore its an action that Citi will follow. Anyone who’s been employed at Citi for any amount of time can see that.

So stupid to go into the office only to join a video there for all day con calls.

I’d never refer some I know for a position at Citi.

It’s almost comical what Citi asks for on a job posting vs. what they are willing to pay.
They want everything and want to pay about 1/3 of what the candidate is worth.
I referred two people I know, after 4 interviews an offer was made of 1/3 of what they were currently making. Citi will never gain OR retain top talent for the money they are willing to pay. The ONLY perk they had was work from home and now they are slowly getting rid of that.

So ready to leave this toxic company. I hired on two years ago. The only thing I have learned is that Citi thinks their employees are worthless.

I have no idea who you are or what part of the business you are working for but 12 people came over to my house this weekend for a job seekers party. All we did is surf via BYOD and submit for jobs that offered 100% remote. There’s another such party being hosted at another person’s house this Sat. The work from home was the one thing Citi had going for it and now they are chipping away at it, so yeah, outta here.

Myself and 4 of my colleagues have decided to go with option 2. Join employment elsewhere that allows 100% remote. So, yeah, we’ll be going that route. I’m thinking that’s whats best for me.

It is extremely important to return to office. Office chairs are now equipped with energy harvesting technologies from bu-t warmth. This is crucial to end our reliance on fossil fuels and other unsavory ways of producing energy.

Our country depends on it, gotta keep those chairs warm people!

Good thing the CEO got a 32% raise to help her offset the increase of gas prices. Glad to see things worked out for her.

Also glad to see that Citi rose the challenge like other banks did and gave everyone a substantial increase in pay to help combat inflation.

Citi…true trailblazers.

Introvert here.
The anxiety that extroverts may experience by prolonged working from home, I feel every time I’m made to come into the office. Group forced camaraderie doesn’t work for everyone. I find it exhausting watching everyone else plaster a fake smile on their faces during interaction all to watch them roll their eyes as they walk away but continue to “play the game”.

Just in time for gas prices to raise even higher now. It’s been estimated that due to the current USSR conflict a nice robust cost of 5$ per gallon is on the horizon.
Team building, collaboration and all that….um…depend on what you do.
I think its incredibly stupid to have people come into the office and zoom from there vs zooming in from home all so some bean counter can place a check mark in a box.

I’ve been back in the nyc office for months now, it’s not that bad. As more people come back it will be even better. Being on zoom calls suck, but the in person interactions, the casual conversations that lead to collaboration, networking/ relationship building etc. is what’s been missing for the last couple years. Twice a week, even 3x a week is a good thing. As long as there is flexibility to wfh part time, i’m all for it.

Once again Citi misses the mark. They have a chance to step up and realize that due to the rise of inflation, they could give the employees the option to work from home to offset the extra cost of money on gas, vehicle wear and tear, dry cleaning, food for lunch etc… but no….Citi wants people back in the office. Yet another example of Citi management just throwing darts at a dart board on decisions.

I am at my Citi location with only 1 other co-worker. We do not meet on anything. We do not do the same job. The rest of our team is scattered around the US. Most of them are fulltime work from home, yet I am expected to go in the office just to be seen sitting at a desk most of the day on conference calls. This "logic" makes zero sense to me.

I left about 3 months ago. Best decision ever. The only regret I have was not leaving sooner. I got 25% more money and a signing bonus without even a blink of the eye.

I saw this coming a mile away. I’ve got 2 offers on the table, more money, 100% remote work. Life is good, no complaints on this end. The he-l with Citi posturing, I’m outta here.

Time to revamp the resume and start applying for jobs that allow permanent work from home. Buh bye Citi. Good luck with the exodus of employees.
