Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

60+

HR is in a quandary on how to selectively give packages to 60+ers time passing at Intel towards retirement vs. not cause a mass exodus by non-60+ers.

AXG really messed it up with GPU delays. 1 year delay with PVC competing with silicon for SPR. Layoffs are imminent in AXG soon with RK losing deal to Aurora. Notice that RK is now where to be found neither in any big events. No idea of situation in other BUs.

Can one send an e-mail to HR expressing interest in a buyout package, cc’ing GL or just wait? Any idea if possible buyout packages later on down the road?

Problem is not age. There are 50ers or even 60ers that are very productive. Problem is job role, lots of bloviators in cushy middle management jobs just talking big, faking it and pp'ing it to their next grade level (a lot of these in their 40s or even 30s). At least half of these fakers should get kicked to the curb immediately without a package and put the fear of God into the other half. Productive engineers, no matter their age, should get real incentives, retention packages and promos.
