Well the executives had to declare no merit increases or bonuses this year due to their failures. But of course blamed it on the employees AGAIN.

Great! You get a bonus and then get laid off 3 months later. What a deal!! I would hope they pay their employees since they are selling off assets! The Garage sale was successful!

We ran across two of our old techs who were part of a group that left and formed their own company. They are installing rads and DIA bundles in the DC area for us and they are getting much more than $20 hr.

I was told the same and Yes it could be speculation from my manager, but he was pretty descriptive in his information that there is NO STI this year. Also, it really doesn't matter if there is or isn't. No way can you obtain an 8 or 9 score. We are all busting our butts and our managers are submitting us for 8s or 9s just for upper management to issue us 5s. Yeah, an 8 request is submitted and company comes back with a low 5. The amount of work I did last year was more than I ever have done and it's fully noted in my appraisal. I gurantee you I will NOT get anything but a 5. I did put "GET AN 8" on my bonus as one of my 2022 goals. Boss scolded me for doing that but I'm going to respond that I couldn't complete that goal due to company ignorance and shadey operation.
Meanwhile…each one of the executives received an 18% minimum bonus for all their hard work :( ROCK ON minions!!!
Just asked someone to review the Storey All-Hands video. Even searched the transcript for "STI" and/or "Bonus". Not one mention of it!
May I suggest the OP get their facts straight BEFORE scare mongering and posting FAKE NEWS!!!! No raises is old news... been that way for 5+ years!
They had already noted last week that there would be no raises...that should surprise no one, because it's been the general case for about 5 years now. Did someone confirm 100% that there will now be no STI payout for 2021 either?

In my city they use 3 contract companies. Wise connect, act, and unified to do all the gpon work. They’re all on piece work pay. If any job is going to take them more than an hour they kick it back. It’s not uncommon to have a customer say “you’re the 5th guy out here”. 20 more contractors than in house here now. Once our contract ends it’ll probably be the end for net/broadband techs job titles. Then it’s be a prem tech or be a contractor? Think I’ll just ride off into retirement.
We lost two more Engineers last week - Colorado. They of course made the right decision to leave before this announcement. How sad that you would continue another year knowing that you can never impress your family with a pay raise or bring in more money for the excessive amount of work you do. Yet more will leave and someone will have to pick up their workload; until someone else is hired to come in at a pay that will never increase and with questionable bonuses. Circle of Life.
I guess the company won’t be rehiring any of the laid off Broadband technicians .Ctl in Minneapolis is using a contracting company called Wiseconnect for Gpon installations. Found it on indeed. $20hr you provide your own tools, truck and phone.
