Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

It's been too long without layoffs

I've been waiting for over six months for the next round in hopes I'll be affected. AT&T is slacking.

I giggle at craft posts here.." agreed to no layoffs". You realize they can move work anywhere, which they often do. It just means you'll need to move to keep your job. BTW, no one is safe here......

I believe they will have targeted layoffs perhaps not this year. Targeted at the departments that are seen to no longer be needed or not profitable. They will also hire people in departments that are needed and profitable. But then again isn't that what they always do.

2022 will be like 2021. Next occupational window is Mar 15th. Doesn't mean that there will actually be much layoffs on that date.

From what I'm seeing in out of region, T isn't going to be laying off anytime soon. Actually, they're hiring more techs, not that we need them! Either way, hiring is always better than firing!

“” We’ve read on multiple threads that the company agreed with the union not to layoff any bargained for employees before 2023””

Not true at all. What the company promised was not to reduce total number of craft employees till 2023. What that means is they can still do layoffs and force adjustments as long as they maintain the same number of craft employees. So they can still target certain titles or areas. As long as they balance it out with hiring elsewhere

12 years and you believe you deserve that? Get real you deserve nothing and more than likely that is what you will get.

We’ve read on multiple threads that the company agreed with the union not to layoff any bargained for employees before 2023, so that can only mean that management would be impacted if there is to be any reductions this year. Why torture yourself and hang on until there’s an actual layoff, it might never come. Now is the time to find a job that is waiting to be filled. Those jobs may not be there forever. If you’re not happy with your T employment, get out there and be proactive in securing the job with the company you want to work for! The time is now, not six or eight months from now!

The Stink and his Evil HR Ratbert friend have mastered the art of getting rid of people without severance. So why layoff and have to pay severance when he can rebadge people, have take-aways that force people to leave, and sell off chunks of the business that he bought high and sold low?

I heard from someone that during Legg's Q&A, he was going to have at home workers come back into the office. That probably will cause some people to voluntarily leave especially if they are put in open spaces pending mandate decisions.

You might not bet in luck if they do things to again force people to leave on their own.

And no, I'm not joking or trolling. I want out but I want to be paid to leave. I earned that after 12 years at this hellhole.
