Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Now we have a Train Station CEO 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

Hope his vehicle doesn’t get broken into like mine did last time I was in that area. Or maybe he rides a scooter.

You stick in the muds are really going to regret talking bad about this. I'll tell you what, there are going to be autonomous flying cars, and people are going to be walking around with their neural-link man buns getting shanked in the back as their hipster all-stars get taken off their feet. You heard it here first.

Bill didn't care about location. This was a hero complex thing. He sees Elon changing the world to EVs and private space flight, and he wants to point to something and say "I did that!"

THey should rename it the Edsel Michigan Central Station. Give it a fitting name.

2bhn,

Exactly. What was Ford thinking? Real Estate 101... location, location, location. They didn't do thier DD.

I think the historic Michigan Central station should have met the same fate as the historic PDC Showroom -- a date with the wrecking ball. The money Ford could have saved by not renovating the rail station would have covered the cost of freshening the Fusion to keep it relevant in North America.

According to todays news, Ford just took $7,500,000 of Michigan taxpayer money to fund this debacle, so at least that lessens the burden on shareholders. Clown show continues.

Now we just confirmed why we came in at 54% - somebody has to fund his salary.

Is this new hire going to be busy enough with just the train station to work on??

Me thinks bill needs to buy the packard plant to have this new guy enough workload to keep himself from being a layoff consideration.

What, the last 20-30 years now...the same old - Detroit's Comming Back shtick. Nothing more than the ultra rich few that have spent years buying up real estate trying to make Detroit a thing again so they can cash in. Fact remains, Detroit is an ugly, crime ridden toxic waste dump with a couple casinos, arenas, and a bunch of broken down parking lots. Yeah, sure, that is where you want to live. Governors, mayors, city planners, wealthy and celebrities, other companies have all tried and by the looks of it failed. SURE.... Ford, the family that has given us the Lions, the most losing team in history will step in and save Detroit with this guy. Sorry if I choked laughing given Ford's illustrious history of hiring failures. Aside of course from Mulally. Yeah, nope.

They must have plans to gentrify the area and add urban sprawl around the train station. That's what this guy specializes in. "Legoland" housing estates which add to urban sprawl, intensive living and traffic congestion.

He broke a conflict of interest law in 2009 and was fined $1500. The article is here:

The train station should have been demolished. Nobody who is under 65 even remembers it. So stupid Ford wasted nearly a billion dollars on this.

They have no accountability, they are protected by their awful decisions because the have the votes due to preferred shares. Its a joke. How the SEC allows an arrangement like this is beyond me.

What is this Train Station going to be? Started out as some High-Tech hub to rival Silicon Valley. I recall 2019 auto show Billy was looking for major investors! Last year I started to hear about turning that building into apartments.
I see no major investors. In a cr---y area. What accountability does the family have for this?

LMAO, people will now flock to work in the Train Station.
Prepare to return to the office simply so Bill can claim a temporary victory.
