I am constantly afraid of being cut because it wouldn't be good for me to lose my job right now, but.. I can also no longer be anxious whether I will be the target or not, whether I will survive this time or not. Surviving layoffs, it seems to me, is just prolonging the agony, isn’t it?

WS gave me a 2 week notice of a layoff 4 years ago. On my last day I turned my badge in with a job offer for almost double 48k -> 93k. Got the severance to boot. Im now making almost triple what WS was paying. I even came back to poach one of the employees I knew I could trust to run help me run things at my new company. WS couldnt even think about matching the pay.
Just leave life is better.
Then leave.
Surviving layoffs is like Surviving cancer. Yeah, it feels good to be alive but it's not good for you.
