rumours are that TCS have asked some (but not all) UK based ex Refinitiv Tupeed staff to sign an NDA. does anyone have any more info around this and why the devide?

Anyone know if TCS can/might do this with former TR/Refinitiv people based in the US, or is it just a UK thing?
yes got asked to sign NDA and waive certain rights as described above, got informed that I am deemed critical based on my tech knowledge they offered me a retention bonus if I stay 18 months, it pays at 100% of my base pay.
That part is actually pretty normal. As someone else mentioned, not everyone is going to get offers to badge over. Generally the company you're already with has you sign something to the effect of not mentioning anything about the agreement you're signing, nor the retention bonus you're getting, etc...
One of my old jobs sold out to TCS. Some of the things TCS tried to get me to sign to work there were just crazy. Basically you can't do anything else as a side gig, since that may be a 'conflict' with something they do for someone, somewhere (Even writing silly little phone apps/games I was told was a no-go. They didn't do it 'then' but they may get into that business some day and it would be a conflict.)
Plus they wanted me to sign something that practically amounted to letting them have or use any idea or patent I already have or would ever create, whether it comes about due to the job I was doing for them or not. It was just crazy. I told them to kick rocks.
I remember one issue had to do with my owning a company. Someone may have said to me, "Just put it in your wife's name. You think none of us have companies? You just have to be smart about it. We just need you to sign the agreement." There was no way I was going to work with folks like that. But that's just me. Oh yeah, I was never supposed to talk about that agreement, either... but I never signed anything, so whatever.
@OP+1fjKxGp6 they are giving them a humungous retention bonus and pay rise and don't want them to talk, for selected special people only hence some but not all.
