Diversity or no one wants auto industry

Hires/fcgs might be diversity quota or people with skills are going elsewhere.

I swear sometimes I feel like I’m being trained into becoming a politician instead of getting justice and moving on with my life getting to build and catch up on skills lost do to ford motor company

Quit minimizing merit as dei initiatives. You do the work. You hold your end the bargain. you prove yourself. None of this has to do with dei it has to do with honor and a transaction. Pointless stirring up nonsense to make this sh-t now be a dei situation.

Anything but looking at the facts that they backed their sh-t up and they came before that with a history of doing the same. Classic case of mad cuz bad. Nobody tried to pull one over on one of the sides, they held up the agreements. There is weird sh-t regarding race that ford has done I experienced which is concerning, but I tried really hard to not bring race which is not necessary to look at cuz yall did so much sh-t in so many different ways tbh

If you had just given those 40 Acres and a Mule, maybe things wouldn't be like they is today.

“ There’s no I in Team” only applies to one demographic now. Everyone else is remarkable and should be in the spotlight.

To think they have 40 advisors on this !

Truth be told, I think diversity matters very little at ford for promotions. Everyone I’ve seen get promoted lately has just been a huge kiss @$$. We have lost really good people recently to other companies that didn’t get promoted here who were stellar (and female). Interestingly enough, the people promoted recently have been all male.

The problem with diversity at Ford is that some of the people they are promoting are incompetent. I watched a GSR 7 in powertrain work his way up to an LL4. Super nice guy but no where near a stellar employee. Lots of nonsense talking. Many of us had to mute him when on webex's since he was so annoying. blah blah blah blah.

However you believe man came to be on this earth, I think we can all agree, both genders and all races have been here about the same amount of time, can't get more equal opportunity than that.

Here’s what we spend time on while thee we Company crashes

“The Men as Allies workshop is designed to encourage and enable male leaders to challenge the status quo and use their position to promote gender equity. Register for the four-hour course, available now.

Your accomplishments won't speak for themselves. That's why Ford has nearly 40 trained facilitators to help team members find greater success. #IamRemarkable is a Google initiative empowering women and underrepresented groups to speak openly about their accomplishments to break modesty norms and glass ceilings. Sessions run from Feb. to May.”

You mean like having the last name Ford automatically qualifies you for being on the board or being President?

I get the desire to hire the best, regardless of race. However, is everyone at Ford really the best? How many people got jobs through family connections or friends? How many people are on the mess up, move up career path? If everyone had to reapply and interview for their current jobs, would everyone get their job because they are the best person for the role? It would be wonderful if there truly was a level playing field and everyone got the same shot, but we know it is not reality. If you have an issue with diversity initiatives, that is your choice but remember, everyone who does not fit your definition of a diversity hire is probably not the most qualified person for their job.

Here is something just amazing: employees that are focused working on DEI policies are not designing, engineering, manufacturing, or marketing motor vehicles.

@xur+1fj0Jewz Exactly. There is a diversity group in purchasing and I believe pretty much everyone in that group is a POC. It’s laughable.

What does the chief diversity officer do? How much are we paying these people for DEI initiatives. Seems like there are a lot of high positions on this group. Paying a lot of money for what?

Also if you look at the employees under this group, from what I can tell they are all women…doesn’t seem like diversity to me.

Personally, I have no problem with a minority or woman in a position of decision making.
But do not lower the standard instead bring them up to that standard. I attended a HR event back in 1999. When HR asked about how to make it fair for a candidate to get promotion. it was a minority who said eliminate what race you are and eliminate name and s-x in the job application.
That person was given a standing ovation.
When you have competent people in place the troops will rally. When you hold people accountable including Ford Family members to a standard then your troops will start to perform.
One of the best bosses I ever had was a female minority. She knew her job understood how to manage people and she was upfront with us when it came to objectives/deliverables and timing. She applied for a promotion. was not even interviewed. Job went to a PRP candidate. She left the company.

I read this like 10x and still don't know what you're saying.

To sum it up, are you saying the FCG's/regular hires that Ford is hiring are to fill diversity quotas and that the good talent sees this and is electing to work elsewhere??
