If you are still one of B&N’s employees, you have been noticing that employees and managers are leaving the company in record numbers. Upper management, Regional and Store Managers are especially anxious to get out ASAP, if they haven’t already. Even worse, older mangers are being forced to take early retirement. It’s certainly a very sad time for the once thriving retail bookseller.

That's ridiculous. Managers of day-to-day of any given store are not the ones responsible for the downfall of the company. Heck, if anything the internet and 'time' have more responsibility there than anything else. It's just a broken model now.
The managers will be unemployable. No reputable company will want them.
It's true. My store manager is leaving soon and confided in me, every manager is looking for another job. The writing is on the wall, folks.
